Indexes: Marginal Headings and Scriptural Quotations
The Indexes tab in Concord allows you to see full lists of the Marginal Headings and Scriptural Quotations which appear in Mary Baker Eddy’s published writings.
There are 4 indexes in Concord: Marginal Headings Alphabetical Order, Marginal Headings Page Order, Scriptural Quotations Bible to MBE, and Scriptural Quotations MBE to Bible.
To find these indexes on a desktop, laptop, or tablet, click on the Indexes tab in the top right corner of the Search Panel.
To find these indexes on a smartphone, click on the Books tab at the bottom of your screen, and then tap the Indexes dropdown menu.
Marginal Headings (Alphabetical Order)
To view an alphabetical list of the marginal headings in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, select the Marginal Headings dropdown followed by the Alphabetical Order dropdown.
You can then choose to view the marginal headings under a specific letter by clicking the arrow next to it. Alternatively, you can click the expand all icon to see all marginal headings.
Click/tap on any of the marginal headings to view them in the Read Panel.
Marginal Headings (Page Order)
To view the marginal headings in the order in which they appear in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, select the Page Order dropdown.
All of the marginal headings will appear listed in page order. Click/tap on any of the marginal headings to view them in the Read Panel.
Scriptural Quotations Index
To view a list of all scriptural quotations in Mary Baker Eddy’s writings, use the Scriptural Quotations indexes (imported from the Concordance).
On a desktop, laptop, or tablet, the Scriptural Quotations indexes can be found by clicking the Indexes tab in the Search Panel.
To find these indexes on a smartphone, click on the Books tab at the bottom of your screen, and then tap the Indexes dropdown menu. You will see another drop down titled “Scriptural Quotations,” and tap on that.
Scriptural Quotations in the Bible:
To see everywhere a specific Bible passage appears in Mary Baker Eddy’s writings, select the Scriptural Quotations Bible to MBE dropdown, and then choose either the Old or New Testament.
Select the expand all icon next to the book of the Bible you are interested in.
Next, find the citation you are interested in. You will then be able to see everywhere this citation appears in Mary Baker Eddy’s writings. Note: The cross-references in Concord include only those listed in the Concordance.
Scriptural Quotations in Mary Baker Eddy’s Published Writings:
To see the Bible passages quoted in one of Mary Baker Eddy’s writings, select the Scriptural Quotations MBE to Bible dropdown.
Select the drop down menu next to the book you are interested in. You can see all of the scriptural quotations in a book by selecting the expand icon.
You will then be able to see each of the Bible quotations included in that book. You can click on any reference to view it in the Read Panel.
