Copy and Paste on an iPhone

To copy a passage from Concord on your smartphone and paste it into a text message, e-mail, document, etc., follow the instructions below: 

  • Identify the passage you would like to copy.

  • If you are in the Study Tools or Lists Panels: tap on the 3-dot menu to the right of the citation.

  • If you are in the Read Panel: tap the desired sentence/verse(s) to highlight them. Once the citation is highlighted, tap the three-dot icon in the citation builder. 

  • Under “Copy Selected,” tap the format (citation, free flowing, book format, or Concord link) you would like to use (see format examples below). This will temporarily save the highlighted passage to your phone’s clipboard.  

  • Open the application you would like to paste the passage into (such as an email or text message). 

  • Tap and briefly hold your finger where you would like to paste the passage.

  • Release your finger and a menu will appear. Select Paste and your passage will be pasted.

 

Examples of Copy/Paste Format Options  

 

Citation - Only the citation appears

Ps. 23:1, 2

 

Free Flowing - The text appears in paragraph form 

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

(Ps. 23:1–2 )

 

Book Format - The text appears as it looks in the books with line breaks, line numbers, etc. (Note: Some applications, like Apple Notes, may not support pasting in this format).
