Finding Alternate Hymn Tunes in the Read Panel
Many hymns are set to multiple arrangements in the hymnal - in Concord, these are called “Alternate Hymn Settings”. These settings can be found within the Read Panel, as well as the Study Tools Panel. This article walks through how to navigate alternate hymn settings in the Read Panel and how to add a specific hymn setting to a list directly from the Read Panel.
To find alternate hymn tunes in the Study Tools Panel, see this article: https://tfccs-opa.atlassian.net/wiki/x/LgAcKw.

Finding Alternate Hymn Tunes:
In the Study Tools panel, search for a hymn that has several tunes (alternate settings). You can search using the hymn’s title, lyrics, or number (ex. “Hymn 304”).
Click on your hymn in the Study Tools Panel, and it will appear in the Read Panel.
3. To view alternate settings in the Read Panel, go to the Citation Builder (at the top of the Read Panel) and click "View Alternate Settings."
A drop-down list of all alternate hymn settings will appear:
Adding Alternate Hymn Tunes to a List:
In the Read Panel, alternate hymn tunes can be added to a list through either the drop-down Citation Builder menu (shown above) or the alternate citations under the hymn. This section focuses on using the drop-down; another section (below) explains how to use the alternate citations below the hymn.
With the drop-down menu of alternate tunes open, use either the 3-dot menu or 9-dot icon to add a hymn to your list.
1. 3-dot menu: Add a hymn through the menu
a. For your desired tune, click on the 3-dot menu (right-hand side of citation builder).
b. In the following menu, select “Add to Recent List” if it is not already pinned.
c. Under “Add to Recent List”, choose your desired list. The menu will close, and the citation will appear in the list.
9-dot icon: Drag and drop a hymn
a. In the List Panel, open the list where you would like the tune to be located.
b. For your desired tune, locate the 9-dot icon (left-hand side of the Citation Builder).
c. Click and hold this icon. While holding it, drag the hymn across the page and drop it into your list.
d. After dropping the hymn in your list, the “Alternate Settings” menu will disappear, and the hymn will be in your list.
Alternate Option:
The second way to add a hymn to a list (from the Read Panel) is found at the bottom of the hymn. Scroll to the bottom of the hymn to show all of the individual, alternate hymn settings:
Use either the 3-dot menu (with the “Add to Recent List” menu) or 9-dot icon (by dragging and dropping the citation) to add a specific hymn to your list, as instructed in the previous section.
