This help article teaches you the different ways to sort lists and folders within the Lists List Manager.

Sort lists by Name order

  • Click or tap on the three-line menu to the right of the words “Lists Manager” in the Lists Panel.Sort Options drop down menu in the List Manager

  • Click or tap on “Name” under the “Sort Lists By” category.

  • Lists and folders within the Lists Panel will now be sorted in alphabetical order by “Name.” New lists and folders will automatically be sorted this same way.

Sort lists by the list’s Creation Date

  • Click or tap on the Sort Options drop down menu in the List Manager

Sort lists by Date Modified

  • Click or tap on the three-line menu to the right of the Lists Manager in the Lists Panel.Sort Options drop down menu in the List Manager

  • Click or tap on “Most Recent” under the “Sort Lists By” category.Lists and folders within the Lists Panel will now “Date Modified” sort and your lists will be sorted by the date shown in the Lists Manager. The date indicates when the list was last modified. New lists and folders will automatically appear at the top of the Lists Manager.

CUSTOM SORT

Create a ‘Custom Sort’ order and sort your lists manually using drag-n-drop 

  • Click or tap on the three-line menu to the right of the Lists Manager in the Lists Panel.

  • Choose the starting order of your lists before beginning to manually arrange them:

    • Name — lists will start sorted alphabetically.

    • Most Recent — all lists will start sorted by date last modified. 

  • Next, click or tap on “[ Add Custom Sort ]” under the “Sort Lists By” category.

  • Enter Sort Options drop down menu in the List Manager

  • Click on the “+” sign to create a custom sort

  • Create a name for your custom sort and click or tap “New Sort.”

  • This new sort option will be displayed in the three-line menu under the “Sort Lists By’ category. To confirm your custom sort is selected, ensure there is a check mark to the left of its name.

  • Manually move lists and folders by clicking or tapping items and dragging them to the desired location. When dragging a list or folder, do not release the item until a green horizontal line appears. Note: If a list or folder is dropped before the line appears, it will automatically be moved to the top of the Lists Manager.

  • You can now choose between the 3 sort options: 1) Name, 2) Most Recent, and 3) [ Your custom sort order ]. Lists and folders will remain in that custom sort order, until you delete it.

Delete your Custom Sort

  • To delete your custom sort option, click or tap on the three-line menu to the right of the Lists Manager in the Lists Panel. 

  • Next, click the trash can icon to the right of the custom sort listed under “Sort Lists .” 

  • You will be prompted to confirm that you would like to delete your custom sort. Select ‘Yes.’(Note: Many users just type “Custom”) and click “New Sort”

  • You can see that Custom sort is now activated under the List Options menu

  • You can now drag and drop your lists and folders into whatever order you’d like. To drag a list, click and hold and move it to your desired location.

  • You can delete your sort and start over by clicking on the trash can icon.
