Pinning Menu Options
You can customize your citation and list menus using the pin feature. This customization allows you to more easily access your favorite or most commonly used options. Menu items you choose not to pin will still be available, but will require an additional navigation click.
“Study Tools” and “Read” Panels
For citations, the 3-dot menus in the “Study Tools” Panel will default to pinning the “Add to Recent List” option, whereas the 3-dot menu in the “Read” Panel will not have any default pins. Besides these defaults, the process of pinning menu options is the same in both panels.
To unpin a default menu option or to pin additional settings, follow the steps below.
Click on a 3-dot menu in the “Study Tools” or “Read” Panel.
If this is your first time customizing the 3-dot menu in the “Study Tools” Panel, then “Add to Recent List” and its corresponding options will be pinned.
You can pin other menu options that have an arrow next to them. In this example, we will pin the “Copy Selected” options. Click on the arrow.
To the right of the option’s header, click on the pin icon.
You’ll notice that it is now pinned open when you click on the 3-dot menu. These pinned options allow you to more easily access their corresponding sub-options (“Citation”, “Free Flowing”, etc.)
To remove a pin, click on the pin icon to the right of the header.
Your 3-dot menu will no longer have that option pinned, as shown below. To access the sub-options under this main option, simply click on the option’s name and navigate through its menu as usual.
Lists Panel
You can also customize your 3-dot menu in the “Lists” Panel.
In the “Lists” Panel, click the stacked lines icon in the right section of the top navigation bar.
The “Lists” options menu will appear.
Look for the options that contain an arrow next to them. This “>” signifies that there are additional options to choose from. Click on one of these options to open it.
In that option’s menu, click on the pin to the right side of the option header.
Now, this newly pinned option will be open with the others in your “Lists” options menu (shown below with “Copy Entire List”). Repeat the previous steps to add or remove as many pins as desired until your “Lists” options menu suits your needs.
