What is the Citation Builder?

This short video describes what the Citation Builder is, how it works and why it's helpful.

The citation builder is the bar that appears at the top center of your screen when you highlight a text. It will include the citation of the highlighted text.

The citation builder will update the citation if you choose to highlight or erase additional sections of the text.

Using the nine dot icon you can drag and drop the citation into a list.

Using the three dot icon or right clicking on the green highlighted text will generate a menu that will allow you to copy the text to an open list or copy to your clipboard in citation or free flowing format. Copying to clipboard will allow you to copy the highlighted section to be pasted into word document or email.

To remove the citation builder off your screen either press the escape button on your keyboard or click the “X” on the right side of the citation builder bar.

The citation builder also appears when you select a citation for your search results in the Study Tool panel.

This continues to be the case when you select a citation from your list in the List panel. Any time there is selected text in the read panel the citation builder will automatically appear.
